Help with SoundCheque
Answers to the most common questions. If yours isn't here, get in touch and we'll help directly.
How do I create my first invoice?
Tap the + button on the invoice list and choose either the Quick Form or the Step-by-Step Wizard. The wizard is built around how musicians actually bill — it asks how many sets you played and how long each one ran, and works out the line items for you.
Can I change the invoice layout or colour?
Yes. In Settings → Invoice Style you can pick from six layouts and eight accent colours. The change applies to every invoice you generate from that point on — past PDFs already saved aren't rewritten, but you can regenerate any invoice's PDF from its detail screen to pick up a new style.
My business details aren't showing on the PDF
Business name, address, phone, email and bank details all come from Settings. If a field is empty there, it's simply left off the generated PDF rather than showing a placeholder.
How do I send an invoice to a client?
Open the invoice and tap Resend Invoice (or Preview → Continue when creating a new one). SoundCheque prepares the email and attaches the PDF — you send it from your own device's Mail app, so it comes from your own email address.
How do I edit an invoice after I've created it?
Open the invoice and tap the pencil icon in the top-right corner. You can change any field or line item — saving updates the invoice in place and regenerates the PDF, without using up a new invoice number.
How do I save a copy outside the app?
From an invoice's detail screen, tap Save PDF to export it to Files, iCloud Drive, or any other location or app you have installed that accepts files.
Is my invoice data backed up anywhere?
SoundCheque stores everything locally on your device — there's no account and no automatic cloud sync. We'd recommend periodically using Save PDF to keep copies of important invoices somewhere backed up, such as iCloud Drive.
